Gronau/ Bad Zwischenahn, March 12, 2020 – Almost eight million people in Germany follow a vegetarian diet. The reasons for this vary. However, the number is growing steadily. Rügenwalder Mühle and Bakerman see great potential in the snack area of the bake-off station. A brand collaboration between the two companies will produce innovative snacks with meat alternatives that can be enjoyed quickly to go. In Rügenwalder Mühle, Bakerman has found a partner that brings the important know-how and is already a renowned brand in the B2C sector.
Everyone has their preferences. This can be: a snack with meat, at best with a crunchy sausage, or without meat. Nevertheless, the sausage remains in the snack – but vegetarian. The market is fast-moving, consumers are becoming more picky and are eating much more consciously. Especially the wishes in the vegetarian area are increasing. What used to be rather ridiculed is now a way of life. Whether vegetarian or flexitarian, meat alternatives are becoming increasingly attractive. “In the meantime, more and more products with a V-label can be found in the assortment of every supermarket and discount store. Only one area is still poorly stocked: the world of baked goods! There is a wide range of possibilities to make this area palatable for vegetarians and flexitarians. And that is precisely the goal of Rügenwalder Mühle and Bakerman,” says Heiko Thees, owner of Bakerman.
