Sustainability
SUSTAINABILITY CONCERNS US ALL!
As a company, we are aware of our responsibility towards the environment, society and future generations. For us, sustainability is not a short-term trend, but a central component of our corporate strategy. We base our actions on the three dimensions of sustainability – economy, ecology and social issues – and systematically develop our measures further.
We are committed to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These global goals form the overarching framework for our economic activities and corporate responsibility. Among other things, they call for the protection of human rights, the fight against poverty and corruption, the promotion of inclusive working conditions and the conservation of natural resources.
…and what does that mean in concrete terms?
Social affairs
We have considered which overarching goals of the three dimensions are most important to us. Without our fantastic colleagues, nothing would be possible! That is why their satisfaction and motivation in the workplace are so extremely important to us. Language courses, additional benefits (e.g. supplementary company health insurance or the option to lease a job bike), regular team and company events, and our open corporate culture are just a few examples, that contribute to a sense of well-being in the workplace. Annual surveys of all employees provide an opportunity to evaluate this. We want everyone to enjoy coming to work in the morning!
By 2028, the percentage of respondents who agree with the statement “I enjoy coming to work” is to be increased from 88% in the 2025 survey year to at least 90%.
In addition, everyone should feel that they are treated fairly, regardless of age, nationality, ethnic origin or sexual orientation. The average approval rating for these criteria should remain at least 90.5%.
Dieser Ausgangswert aus dem Befragungsjahr 2025 macht uns schon ein wenig Stolz und zeigt uns, wie viel wir schon richtig machen.
Economy
The quality of our products is paramount, which is why we have set ourselves the goal of conducting at least 250 additional quality checks on our products each year in order to guarantee our customers the best possible quality.
Another important tool for ensuring quality is our annual IFS certification, which we always successfully pass at the highest level.. Our goal is to continue maintaining this outstanding performance.
ENVIRONMENT
Last but not least, we must work on our carbon footprint by reducing the greenhouse gas emissions caused by our company.
Among other things, through the use of green electricity, which we have been using at our Gronau site for several years now. We remain committed to sourcing 100% of our electricity from renewable energy sources.
As part of our product range, we are also aware of our great responsibility in the area of FLAG emissions (forestry, land use and agriculture) and have therefore set ourselves the goal of reducing our To reduce emissions resulting from agricultural activities by 30% by 2030. The basis for this is 2023 as the year of our first climate assessment.
SUSTAINABLE CORPORATE MANAGEMENT
Overall, we have set ourselves the goal of obtaining ZNU certification (ZNU Standard for Sustainable Management). This standard provides a structured framework for measuring and improving sustainability performance, taking all three dimensions into account.
Are you curious to find out exactly how we intend to achieve our goals, how our progress towards these goals develops each year, and what else our sustainability strategy entails?
Stay tuned! More information will follow soon!
