SUSTAINABILITY CONCERNS US ALL!

SUSTAINABILITY CONCERNS US ALL!

As a company, we are aware of our responsibility towards the environment, society and future generations. For us, sustainability is not a short-term trend, but a central component of our corporate strategy. We base our actions on the three dimensions of sustainability – economy, ecology and social issues – and systematically develop our measures further.

We are committed to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These global goals form the overarching framework for our economic activities and corporate responsibility. Among other things, they call for the protection of human rights, the fight against poverty and corruption, the promotion of inclusive working conditions and the conservation of natural resources.

…and what does that mean in concrete terms?

Social affairs

We have considered which overarching goals of the three dimensions are our top priority. Nothing works without our great colleagues! That’s why their satisfaction and motivation in the workplace is so extremely important to us.

Language courses, additional benefits (e.g. additional company health insurance or the opportunity to lease a company bike), regular team and company events and our open corporate culture are just a few examples of how we create a feel-good factor in the workplace.

Annual surveys of all employees give us the opportunity to evaluate this. We want everyone to enjoy coming to work in the morning!

By 2028, approval of the question “I like coming to work” is to be increased from 88% in the survey year 2025 to at least 90%.

In addition, everyone should feel that they are treated fairly, regardless of age, nationality, ethnic origin or sexual orientation. The average approval rating for these criteria should continue to be at least 90.5%. Dieser Ausgangswert aus dem Befragungsjahr 2025 macht uns schon ein wenig Stolz und zeigt uns, wie viel wir schon richtig machen.

Economy

The quality of our products is paramount, which is why we have set ourselves the goal of conducting at least 250 additional quality checks on our products each year in order to guarantee our customers the best possible quality.

In 2023, we exceeded the target with 266 additional quality checks, and in 2024 we went one better with a total of 311 checks! Another important tool for ensuring quality is our annual IFS certification, which we always successfully pass at the highest level.. Our goal is to continue maintaining this outstanding performance.

In plain language: this was achieved with 98.48% in 2023, 98.98% in 2024 and even 99.23% in 2025.

Our promise: We’ll keep up the good work!

ENVIRONMENT

Last but not least, we must work on our carbon footprint by reducing the greenhouse gas emissions caused by our company.

Among other things, through the use of green electricity, which we have been using at our Gronau site for several years now. We remain committed to sourcing 100% of our electricity from renewable energy sources.

We have been doing this successfully since 2023 and entirely with energy that comes from 100% renewable sources – today and in the future.

As part of our product range, we are also aware of our great responsibility in the area of FLAG emissions (forestry, land use & agriculture) and have therefore set ourselves the goal of reducing our emissions resulting from agricultural activities by 30% by 2030. The basis for this is 2023 as the year of our first climate assessment.

We are working on this:
In 2023, emissions amounted to 199,327 t CO2 e. Due to the company’s steady growth, the figure initially rose to 210,997 t CO2 e in 2024. Our efforts to reduce this figure continue.
