Bakerman receives organic seal

  • The frozen baked goods specialist passes organic certification in accordance with the EC Eco-Basic Regulation and is allowed to use the organic seal for selected articles with immediate effect

Gronau, Germany, September 21, 2020 – For the first time, Bakerman has been certified organic under EC Basic Organic Regulation (EC) No. 834/2007. An approved organic inspection body has inspected and certified the Gronau-based company in accordance with EU legislation on organic farming. The organic label creates transparency and underlines that the quality criteria specified by EU legislation for organic farming are met. According to a study by the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, the three most important reasons for buying organic food are: animal welfare, regionality and environmental protection. Avoidance of pesticide residues, compliance with social standards and the freshness of food are other motivations for eating organic food.

“Not only with our customers, but also with end consumers, we bear responsibility and constantly address their needs. The organic label is becoming increasingly popular and more important than ever for end consumers. We therefore want to offer our customers products that meet the organic standard and provide more transparency in the display,” emphasizes Maike Bürse-Hanning, Head of Quality Management. Heiko Thees, owner of Bakerman, is also pleased about the certification: “For the production of our organic products, which mainly cover our pizza range, we only use high-quality organic raw materials. We are therefore also very pleased that we will be able to use the organic seal in the future and offer our customers first-class organic baked goods.”
